Kim Russell never imagined her life would change the day she met a tiny, unusual kitten who would later be named Bruce.

Even more fascinating, Bruce lacks an undercoat entirely. All of the hair on his body is topcoat fur, which creates the shimmering “wet-and-dry” look that has become his signature.
Kim eventually began joking that he resembled “a glamorous wig with paws,” a description that made her laugh every time she said it.
But beyond his striking looks, Bruce’s spirit is what makes people fall in love with him.
Kim noticed early on that he expresses himself more dramatically than most cats. Having grown up alongside dogs, he learned to communicate with full-body enthusiasm—stretching, trilling, and making a variety of little sounds that Kim could recognize instantly.
